    SPACEMAN requires assistance.
SPACEMAN would like a line of text to appear normal,
then to “burst” in 3d space and then to “flutter” or “swarm”.
SPACEMAN sees the “flutter/swarm” as having the individual text characters rotating around xyz, without necessarily leaving the screen.
SPACEMAN will not smile until this has been acheived.
SPACEMAN would like to thank the helpful in advance.

    (smiling is a curious thing…)

there are two ways i can think of.

one uses the old ‘obsolete’ path text effect. apply that to a a layer, enter your text and adjust the path as needed. then animate the ‘jitter’ properties for position and rotation and it should start to create a swarm of letters.

another way is to use a text animator.. use the type tool and enter your text. then, from animation>animate text, choose per character 3d, position and rotation. this will add new properties to the text layer.

from the animator 1 property, click the triangle to the right and choose selector>wiggly. then set the position and rotation values to suit.

to create a transition from static to swarm, animate the range selector 1 ‘end’ property from 0 to 100.

you can further refine the swarm in the wiggly selector 1 properties.
