    I’m sure this is easy and has been done a million times. Yet I can’t figure out (using Adobe Premiere Pro) how to allow a animated background to show only through my text.

    Turn your text into a Track Matte so that only the video shows through.

    Just to detail. I know Steve must getting tired of explaining it over and over 😉

    Apply track matte key effect to your animation track, in effects properties set you text track as matte.

    Voila…

    Here is a video tut on track matte. Substitute your text for the white oval over the face.
