Text Stops Being Editable
Has anyone else had a problem when editing, or adding, text in After Effects? I’ll be typing and the text will spontaneously deselect, which is a pain because I’ll also out type it and it’ll reveal and close different properties before I notice (like typing ‘t’ brings up opacity). It is highly annoying. It happens a lot when kerning, and sometimes it’ll move the text around in my comp if it stops while I’m using the arrow keys when it decides to deselect, which is a pain that is compounded if the text is also keyframed.
I’m running AECS3 on an Octo-core Mac Pro. I’m on OS X 10.5.5 (though it did it pre-Leopard as well).

Yes, I have this issue.
And I’ve figured out that it’s all my fault. You and I are probably hitting any of several keys or combos that exit the text entry field. It happens so quickly I don’t know I’m out of the text till I look up and see the wrong things happening.bogiesan
This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

See I thought of that, but it happens when just touching the arrow keys. And then the most telling moment happened. Yesterday I was editing text and something distracted me so I left the room. When I got back to my chair I looked and saw the text deactivate right before my very eyes when I hadn’t even sat down yet.
