Text stair step bitmap look
Hey Cow, can anyone help me by offering some suggestions? Here’s the setup: I have a precomped video layer that has text in it and it has been expanded greatly using the scale option. So greatly has it been scaled up that the bitmap text stair steps are now very large. Now, I want to add some additional text on top of that precomp and I want it to have that same stair step look but not make it blurry and noisy like the precomp. What should I do? I’m using AE CS3 on a Mac.

Type it in Photoshop with antialiasing turned off (you’ll have to experiment with resolution, but I would start with 72 DPI at the final size of scale set to 100), then make sure and render that layer in Photoshop so that it’s a normal raster layer and not editable type, and bring it in.

Mosaic was the effect I was looking for. I applied it directly to the text layer and set it to 400×400. Thank you very much for your help.
