I have rotoscoped a mouth speaking. I now have a mask with hundreds of key frames. Now, I’d like to fill the negative space (created by the mask) with text so that the text animates to match the shape of the mask that contains it (rather than just sitting statically behind the mask).

I’m pretty sure that this is not possible to achieve with a mask, BUT. Is it possible to achieve with a matte? If so, can I transfer my mask keyframes over to a matte and tell my text to stretch to the border of that matte?
Or am I just way off?

    Thanks!
