Can anyone explain how I can create a line of text that has one word a different color than the rest of the text?

The way I do it is to copy the text event, paste it on a higher track, change the colour and delete the words I don’t need.
You’ll have to play with the spacing to get it to match the lower track but this isn’t hard to do.

Thanks so much for your response! Do you mind going into a little more detail on what I would do to create it as a graphic?

Pretty much any graphic app such as Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, etc. will allow you to colour text (and apply effects) on a letter by letter or word by word basis.
