it worked on the computer at school, but it was using r11.5. i can still open the file and save it, but i can’t use this text. wtf???

Depending on what you are trying to do, you could create the text as outlines in Illustrator (giving you more control over the kerning) and save it as an Illustrator 8 file. Then you could bring it into C4D.

yea, but then it becomes more difficult to use the extrude nurbs for all the details of the. in fact, it just fills it all in.

i’ve given up on the problem for the moment, and chose a different font. i’m sure the issue will go away when i get a hold of r11.5

so i guess the problem is resolved.

    thanks anyway =)

probably you have each letter that came from Illustrator as a group of splines. Select all of one group (all the splines in a letter) and do a Functions/Connect. Toss or hide the group (and remove it from the Extrude) and take the new spline that just got made and put it in the Extrude.
