    This is a tough one.
I have a very big comp (14000 x 2000 px) and I’d like to have different text items (such as health, quality, design, etc) fall from the top, as if attracted by gravity, and then decompose by character when they hit the bottom of the comp, characters should pile on top of each other as they hit the ground or other characters.
    Any ideas?

i would probably approach that with particular, making the letters custom particles. Not sure how familiar you are with particular but you can set up to 2 layers i think to use as floors or other kind of deflectors.

I believe what you are talking about is physics/dynamics and in theory can be coded, but really AE is not an easy product to achieve this.

Dan’s web site has collision script that would help:

    best luck

Exactly dynamics/physics is what I’m trying to achieve… I figure Dan’s code for collision detection would be part of the code, at least now we know how to detect when two layers intersect. Now, I figure that in position one would have to somehow define gravity, but then there’s also how to handle rotation once a collision has been detected, and then there’s friction that has to be defined and calculated… I hope this makes any sense to someone…
