Text moving along path = Bad spacing between characters
Is there a way to keep the characters equally spaced?
I’m sure theres a good reason for AE spacing the characters.Example:
I could smooth the curve A LOT… but I just hope there’s another solution.

Try changing the bezier curves on the node at the top of the curve. That will smooth it out some, but by adjusting it carefully, you can probably reach a happy medium.

Joseph’s right in that you’ll only need to make the curve more obvious. You could of course adjust the value of First/Last Margin of the Path Options to achieve a similar result.
A solution using Text Animator groups is also achievable. The trick is to break up a word into two words by manually separating them with a space. As per the example above, the first word will be “tex”, second word “t” and third word “text”.
Then just two Text Animator groups for position are required, where the first Animator Group adjusts all characters based on individual characters and the second Animator Group adjusts just the second word, the single “t”.
