    okay so im pretty new to AE but im learning, but i was wondering how do i make this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZwsvNdWFPI

    im going to make a video of me and my friends and i wanna walk past a bench and while im walking past i want my name to start appearing up and maybe for a litle touch the text blows away like sand if i learn how

    please help me out on this i have a few nights to finish this video

    You will need to use Rotoscoing…For this you will need 3 layers (2 layers of same video and one or more layers of text) and some patience.

    Basically you make a duplicate of your video layer, then you add your text layer between the two video layers. Now, using the pen tool, you will create a mask on the upper most layer to cut out what will appear in front of the text. Make sure to set a keyframe for the mask shape. Now go down the timeline and adjust the mask to fit the element that is being cut out.

    As for the text disspearing in sand, you may want to look around here for tutorials….I like to use Trapcode Form for this type of stuff, but it can be done with fractal noise and displacement maps.
