    I need to create a mask from text so the layer underneath is masked within the text, and everything outside the text is hidden and also has an alpha. . I’ve tried Auto Trace successfully, but there’s a white area that I can’t turn to alpha. Not sure if I’m doing this right, can someone please help?

    use the text layer as a track matte, unless i’m misunderstanding your use
