    Hi,
I am rendering a piece of video with a logo and text, but once rendered and imported into FCP the text is not 100% clear….but is jaggedy and blurry.
i’ve tried to render it at a higher resolution but to no avail.
can someone please shed some light on it? I know I must be doing something wrong i just can’t figure out what.

    thanx
    Paolom

what codec are you rendering out of AE with? I suggest you render out a quicktime with no compression, or with the animation codec.

does the text look crisp when you view it in AE? have you scaled it above 100%?

    Hello and thanks,
I’ve tried all types and yes I’ve rendered in 10-bit uncompressed. but is still fuzzy…could it be the font type that’s causing it?
    thanks

    what is your sequence settings?

also how big is your logo and what rez is it?

do you have a vector version of that logo?

    Cheers,

    Lowtech,
the logo is big, i had to scale it down, Excuse my ignorance but i do not know what a vector version is, very new to graphics. the problem is not the logo but the text(font).

    Dave,
I do not own a broadcast monitor.

    thanks to you both.

Final Cut never plays videos at full res. When you export it from FCP it’ll look fine (most likely).

I’m having this same issue. I’m using text that gets bigger on top of video layers. The video looks ok, but the text is always blocky (interlaced-looking?). Would an animation codec work with the video layers?

animation codec will work with either video or graphics or a mix of both … it just won’t make the files much smaller if they are video…

but this may not be your problem … it may be that the thin parts of the text are getting lost in the fields…. have you tried rendering with and without fields? try putting a one pixel vertical blur on the text …

is the text layer made using the text tool? or photoshop? or the text effect? if it is not done using the text tool make sure you are not scaling about 100%…
