I nested several clips into one and need to superimpose a line of text to run concurrently during play. Can’t figure out the process of superimposing the text at the start of the image clip. I THOUGHT creating the text on it own timeline would help but I’m missing a point somewhere along the line.
I’d appreciate a hand. (no clapping please) Thanks.

    Ken,
    I don’t understand the problem.
You create your text on the text generator window (Viewer) and drag it to a track on above the nest.
Position it where you want to start.

Hey Rafael, appreciate the note. Here’s the thing. First, it’s fixed. What happened and will still happen unless I figure it out is that when “text” is selected from the pull down under the Viewer, the words “Sample Text” don’t show up in the Viewer as they’re supposed to. Dragging the blank Viewer page to the timeline brought it in fine and then I was able to modify the text. But for quite awhile it stumped me.
I’m guessing it’s a Viewer prefs thing and I haven;t had time to check it out.

    Again, thanks.

Ken, actually this is an area of common confusion.

When you load up the Text Generator what you’re seeing in the viewer is the raw generator. Any changes you make are to it.

If you add it to the timeline, you’re still making changes to the original that lies in your viewer, not the one in your timeline.

If you double click the one on your timeline, then you can make adjustments in the viewer and it will update appropriately in the Canvas.

Ah, clarity! Where were you hiding when I needed you?

    Thanks very much Jeff.
