Activity Forums Adobe Encore DVD text in subpicture highlight

I’m trying to do the simplest thing. Having a text in button subpicture highlight, so that once the button is highlighted a text appears below.

Ok, it work, but the text is really ugly. Read on the forum that it’s because of the lack of anti-alias and that the subpicures can only handle unicolors.

STILL, IS THERE NO WAY OF DOING THIS WITHOUT HAVING THE TEXT APPEARING LOOKING LIKE HELL?

Use a font that looks good, typically this will be a sans-serif font. Button highlights are only 2 bit. So the pixels are either 100% opaque or 0% opaque, there is no smooth edge. Of course you can always make the entire button semi transparent in Encore, but that still doesn’t change the edge smoothness. It is a limitation of the DVD spec, not encore.

    Thanks Jon.

Tried the Sans Serif, but it doesn´t look good enough. I guess, as a general rule, YOU SHOULD NOT USE TEXT IN SUBPICTURE. Not cool.
