text hacker problem
I’m using text hacker to reveal text to spacific timed voice over. Everything works great until I render in the QT annimation codex. Then my timing on the text hacker only does not match my timeline, it reveals much faster and won’t match the voice over. The rest of the annimation is still on time but not the text hacker. Anyone have a clue what I might be doing wrong.

When you are working with your composition, are you using RAM Preview playback or normal playback? You should always see the RAM preview to know what you are actually getting. Another problem may be that your composition frame rate is different than the frame rate of your codec setting.

I check all that you suggested and all is well. Seem like those would affect the entire render not just one effect. It is odd, my text hacker renders up to 2 seconds faster than the time line says and all other annimations with in the same comp are right on time.

Are you field rendering or frame rendering? I have not used TH in a long time, but I noticed this bug and brought it to Jim T’s attention. He noted it was a bug and they were working on a fix. I never followed up because I had no use for it after that project. You might check the Digital Anarchy fourm or site.

Jim is correct, Text Hacker has a major problem rendering to fields. My work around has been to render TH by itself to frames with alpha channel and then to render the final project using the resulting movie.
