When I try to write text over an image, or even perhaps with no image.. I get text cut off..

For example here I wrote the numbers 12345678 and, there’s some problem related to the fact that I scaled the text down to ’60’, the numbers are still quite big which is ok, but as you can see, after the number 5, no numbers show up at all. And the top of the numbers are cut off.

Here is another example making clear it happens also when no image so it’s not related to the image, you see the top of the text cut off.

And here’s another, also , no image, but here you see both top cut off and letters beyond a certain number of letters, getting cut off. See i’ve typed abdcdefghij (as you see on the far left under ‘effect controls’ that shows what I typed. But all you see are abcde.

Does it happen only with a particular font?

What if you reduce the size of the font further?

Tell us about your system specs. Adobe version you are using. Etc.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from UHD MP4, HD MP4, and HD P2 MXF.

It’s a friend’s comp so I need to be round there to check, it happens with any font, but it looks like a margins issue of some kind..

Notice that the cut offs are all when the text is outside of the border of a smaller square within the black square.

As if there’s a smaller square within the black square, representing margins.

It was that in effect controls, near where the text options are, there are video options, each has a scale. And the video scale needed to be 100%.

    Thanks
