Text from Photoshop vs. Text in After Effects
Is there a difference in the potential animation characteristics between the two types. One created in photoshop then imported to AE and one created in After effects. Animation done in After Effects. Vapor morphs into solid text.
I am currently learning all the programs in Adobe Video Collection Pro. All waking hours are spent at the computer. I NEED YOUR HELP…. because this is the end game on a project of original art years in the making. I need to know where to focus my learning efforts.
Please read these two posts- all help is greatly appreciated. I guess my next option is to start begging.

Hey there.
Text you create in Potoshop is imported as a raster-based layer, just like photos and stuff.
You can’t animate it character by character via animation presets, and it’s not rasterized continously like vector-based layers are After Effects’ vector base text.
So when for example you’re scaling above 100%, you’re loosing resolution.Fear not, however, because AE6.5 introduced a feature that a text layed-out in Photoshop can be converted to an After Effects text-layer.
You just need to have the same original typeface installed, but since you’re working from the same PC, that should be no problem.
But it can be if you’re working with older .psd files or created by someone else.On a kind-of related note: I believe all text features are translated perfectly by After Effects, the same is not true for Photoshop’s layer effects (Drop shadows, bevels etc.) Some of those cannot be re-created in After effects..
