  • Text float behind person masking

Im working with two layers- both are of a person standing. I am trying to achieve the look of text floating behind the person by creating a mask over the original footage.. My problem is in AE as soon as i draw around the person in frame one, it crops the footage as a mask. Its difficult to track the persons moovement. And my second problem is when i go to moove the yellow bullet points in the next frame it minus’ them or bends them but doesnt allow me to just moove them..

Any help into my little prob would be great

    thank you again,
    pete

    1. To see the entire layer, you can set the mask mode to “none” temporarily, or you can do your masking in a layer window by double-clicking on the layer.
    2. To move the mask vertices, you need to have the selection (arrow) tool active. Its keyboard shortcut is V, while the pen’s is G.

To quickly change tools, hold down the relevant shortcut key, do the work, then release the key. You will revert to the last tool.

So while in the pen tool, hold down the V key to move a vertex, then release it to go back to the pen.
