Text expansion
Say, you do the following: you create a text layer with some text, create masks from it, set those masks to Add and gradually increase Mask Expansion. What happens is letters gradually become thicker up to the point where they merge into one big shape.
The question: how can I animate the same thing happening to the text layer without creating masks from it?

Ok, got it: Matte Chocker with negative Choke values applied the text used as a matte for a solid.
