  • Text effect using overshoot and offset per character

I’ve been trying to get this effect right and just can’t get my head around it. I’ve tried range selectors with text animators, but since I’m not keyframing the position, I can’t use an overshoot expression or anything of the like. I really want to know how he is offsetting the text on a per character basis. Is there a faster way than breaking it into shapes and manually offsetting a keyframed position change?

    Best example is at :45
