I’m coming from a Combustion/Shake background, so AE is very new to me.

Is there a way to source only one text that I can split off into different branches, apply each one with it’s one set of effects, layer them on top of each others, yet still have my source footage available to change (spacing, spelling, animation)

Rather than duplicate the layer and have it have multiple sources of the same font.

    Thanks

    2 ways

    1) precomp it

    2) use an expression to tie the source text parameter (and anything else you change) so that if you change the type, it will flow through to all the layers referencing it.

    who is that masked man…
