I’ve been happily constructing an approx 1 hour project in Vegas until last evening! I was in the process of adding titles via the Project Media tab (i.e. dragging the black background “Sample text” icon to the timeline. The problem is I can no longer edit the text – when I did this previously a new window appeared which allowed me to change font, size etc.and this no longer happens. Strangely, the “crop” and “add plug-in” icons still work OK if I click on them in the timeline. The only thing I’ve done different recently was to add a couple of “page curl” transitions but I can’t believe that this is the cause of the problem as if I start a new project the same problem arises. Any help appreciated.

There is a problem with Generated Media in Vegas 9a. So if you are working with version 9a, you could wait for 1 week (or maybe less) till the update 9b will be released. If you can’t wait for 1 week, you can go back to Vegas 9.0

Sorry, forgot to say that I’m using Version 8.

I suspect that your generated media window is either a) docked in with other windows and one is covering it up or b) positioned somewhere on your desktop (maybe even off screen) where you can’t see it.

Check all the docking areas — including behind the preview window. It might even be wedged between its normal docking area and the preview window’s docking area (there are three total) but sized too small for you to really notice. If you find it, click and drag the vertical column of dots in the top left to tear it away.

Thanks for the help. Found the edit text window deeply buried beneath a whole load of others! All OK now. Many thanks for your help.
