    Hi,

I’m working on a project where I would like to add a drop shadow on the text, but I’d like the shadow to have dimensions as if it were really falling on the image behind it – for example, in the credits for the Coen Brothers’ THE MAN WHO WASN’T THERE, there is a pole behind the credits, and in the places where the text falls on the pole, it appears to be more in the foreground than in the places where it doesn’t.

Is there any way to do this in FCP? Thanks for your help.

Try Boris Title 3D’s “Cast Shadow” in the drop shadow tab.

Thanks, I’m using Boris 3D, but I can’t figure out how to offset the shadow (I can rotate the angle, but can’t distance the shadow from the text) and am also having trouble adding depth the shadow, so it looks closer when falling on the image in the foreground and further away when falling on the image in the background.
