text & compression in prores
Hi all-
just about completed my first HDV project. Captured and edited with ProRes (capture was wicked on my G5, editing pretty painless) and have created an 10 bit uncompressed file to take to a post house for blu ray burn. Couple of questions: I cannot, for the life of me, get a decent quality of text. I’ve used several-photoshop (my title page), boris (which is never great) and LiveType, which turned out to be the best option. Still, none are great. There’s always a little breakup. Does this have anything to do with the HD aspect? Any advice?
Secondly, I want to make an SD DVD as a back-up. I’ve made a FC QT file and taken that into DVD SP and let it do the encoding, but I’m thinking there’s a better way, quality-wise. Can I take the uncompressed file into compressor? I guess my question is: What is the best quality solution, step by step? I have been searching on the forum and I’m a little confused.
And what is the HD option in DVD SP?
