    Hi guys,

I have words on a text layer and I’d like each letter to animate such that the character of each letter changes (i.e. palatino to helvetica etc…) but the letter itself remains the same (i.e. ‘A’ will always be ‘A’ but with different characters). So on any given frame on my timeline, the spelling remains the same but the characters change.

Can anybody help me? Is this possible? I’ve been scratching my head for too long over this one!

    Many thanks,

    Marc

Animate it manually by splitting your text layers into separate segments in the timeline (any AE version) or creating keyframes for the source text attribute (it will include the font attributes which are otherwise not animatable using text animators[AE 6.0 and up]). Alternatively you could try Digital Anarchy’s Text Anarchy plugins – it contains a tool called Font Changer that will cycle through 4 fonts of your choice.
