text bug when redering at 4.8 Mbps
Hello,
I’ve encountered a possible bug when rendering video with text overlay in wmv format at 4.8 Mbps. I generated text using the built-in text generator (subtitles for the most part). I rendered the vid in wmv format at 3Mbps and it turned out fine.
We’ll be screening the vid later this week and so I wanted to do a render of slightly higher quality as it will be projected onto a big screen. But when I render it at 4.8 Mbps, all the generated text is misplaced. It appears as if the text has stayed in the same place relative to the old screen size (during the first render at 3Mbps). So now all the subtitles appear higher on the screen, cutting across people’s faces as they speak.
People’s names also normally appear on top of a black box on the bottom of the screen. This black box was also generated with the built in media generator but is not misplaced (so now the names appear slightly above the box).
So it seems only the text is misplaced. The images and everything else is otherwise perfect.
In the editing timeline, the text appears as it should, so while i could adjust it manually, i’d be doing it blindly, guesstimating where they would appear on the render.
Has anybody else encountered this problem? Am i doing something wrong? Is there a way of “locking” the text to the rendered screen size (it would surpise as i would assume that “locked” would be the default setting)? Or should i just give up and do an .avi render?
I’m kinda new at video editing and don’t know some of the technical details of redering. for example, I have no idea what 720-24p means, but other than bitrate, it’s the only difference i notice between the two types of render i have tried for this video. If that’s got something to do with it, i wouldn’t know, so please be patient with me!
Thanks,
Lazar
