    Hi all,

I’m dealing with a series of banners which feature a text box (solid color with a -stroke- frame) and some text inside.

As per guidelines I need to have the text box offset of a certain measure from the text on all sides. This is very mechanical, boring and time consuming task that i wonder if i can automate.

Here’s a rough example of what they need:

And what of course (don’t) happen when I edit the text.

I tried to apply effects on the text… like a huge shadow with no fade, but it always follow the line length. Help 🙁

You can do this with Photoshop actions. Something like the attached.

You need a file which has a background layer and a text layer and have the text layer active in the layers panel before running the action.

    Adjust action steps to taste.

Hi Kalleheikki, thanks for reply, that’s a nice trick ☺ I’m wondering if there is a way to make this box animate live, like while typing in. My guess is that it should happen by applying some effects on the text layer, but that’s just wild speculation…

In After Effects, yes, in Photoshop, not likely.
