Text Box Anchor Point Weirdness
I’m pretty new to After Effects (7.0) but for some reason whenever I create some Text the anchor point is to the far, far left of the text box. The text box appears to the far right of the comp window and the anchor point to the far left. I have to manually adjust the anchor point to the middle of the text box and drag the text box onto the comp window. I have to do this every time I create text and it’s very frustrating. Why is this happening, what can I do to solve the problem?.

Check your paragraph settings. My bet is that you have it set to left align and are using an abnormally large left indent. If you want the anchor point at the center of the text you should use center align and 0 indent.

That was it!!!!, I had my “Add Space Before Paragraph” and “Indent First Line” parameters to an abnormally huge level. I took those both down to “0” and it’s now perfect, thank you so much.
