Text Animation Presets
I suddenly am totally unable to do text animation using my presets (the ones that came with AE Pro 6.5.) I have used them before. what might have suddenly happened? I drag and drop and nothing happens.
The text was created in Photoshop CS2
Any Ideas?

Are you able to drag and drop anything else? Try dragging something from the project window to the timeline. If that doesn’t work, welcome to the club – for me, and for many others AFAIK, drag-and-drop in AE works for X number of times and then ceases to work completely. Only known workaround is to restart the program.
This is the one thing about AE that drives me absolutely crazy. If anyone has any information on this bug I’ll be more than happy to hear it.

Everything else drags and drops fine. Creating the Text in After Effects, worked OK. But not as convenient as using the Text we already created in Photoshop.

Oh, I missed the part about Photoshop, sorry. I am not sure, but I don’t think it’s supposed to work. The text animation presets rely on the range selectors etc. which, as far as I know, work only on AE text.

I have been using photoshop files for text animations. The only requirement I found was that I had to have the font installed on the machine I am using, which I do.
Not sure why suddenly it quit working, or what might have changed in the process of creating the text files in photoshop.Charlie
