  • Text Animation Preset’s not working properly

Posted by Jake Tolbert on May 4, 2006 at 8:30 pm

I’ve experienced this with both AE 6.5 and AE 7.0. The Text animation presets work, but only color, position, scale, and rotation keyframes are applied.

for under the categories ‘Light’s & Optical’

there is a text animation preset called ‘blue flash’

The text animates, but there is not blue flash like it shows in the animation gallery in the help…

What’s up, am I doing something wrong?

I create a text track, and drop the preset on top of it, it works great for basic motion keyframes, but blurrs, flashes, and other type of more organic looking effects are never applied like the gallery shows…

    Any advice?

    Thanks.

I think I’ve had that problem before, and if I’m not mistaken, the way I corrected it was by changing the setting, EDIT/PREFERENCES/PREVIEWS/ACCELERATE EFFECTS USING-(be sure the drop down is set to adaptive resolution and not Open GL)

Worked for me on 6.5 and I see the setting is also there in Version 7

    Good luck!!

Thanks for the quick reply. I will try that. But, even if it were set to use OpenGL, it would still render properly, right?

I rendered out a couple of tests, and it was still missing those extra effects.

Many of the text animation presets, particularly the ‘Lights and Optical’ category only apply basic text moves… Blurs, color, flashes etc. never get applied, as per the Gallery examples…

I tried every method of preview from OpenGL to Adaptive resolution, no success.

It’s not a preview issue. They don’t render right either because I don’t see any blurs or things like that in the effects controls at all.
