I’ve created a DVD “slideshow” for a university using the menu-track system in DVD studio to utilize a dvd as a type of powerpoint project. The track runs the text animation and once verything settles, it switches to menu using a still of that same slide.

The problem is once the animation stops “animating” the text looks blotchy and grainy. I’ve tried exporting different formats from motion but the result is always the same. It looks OK during actual animation but once it stops (during the few seconds before it switches from track to menu) the text has a lot of left over motion artifacts outlining the letters. Any suggestions?? Thanks.

More a design suggestion. Make it a motion menu. At the point you go to the still menu know simply hold on a still in your animation. Hold for however long you’d like it to remain on screen before looping. Say 1 minute should give you enough time. If you watch a lot of Hollywood DVDs you’ll realize this is the trick.

Much thanks. I’ll try it out tomorrow.
