Hey guys, i’ve googled and googled but still coming up stumped on this one, I have a short clip where focus is being pulled along a tree branch and i need to add a text label to that as part of a larger project. However i want the text to come into focus as it were with a certain point on the branch, then out of focus again. All the while attached to a anchor on the branch that moves the text up and down the Y axis of the frame with the branch.

The video and its text is here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ao44ElG217Y which will probably make it clearer.

I’m not great at AE, i’m much more often a photoshop guy. Motion tracker cant work out how the branch moves because of the loss of focus so im guessing it’ll be a manual path dealie.

    Any advice greatly appreciated

Hi. AE’s inbuilt Camera Tracker can track this footage (Animation/Track Camera). For the blur you might keyframe the Camera Lens Blur effect and eyeball it to the amount of blur on the original.
