    Folks, I don’t know why this is happening nor how to correct it: I am adding individual credits using the FCP text generator, fading them up, fading them out.

    Whenever a cross dissolve is used on the text elements, the clips below (which have different color color correcting filters seem to become negated. I’ve tried adjusting my video processing settings with no success. Here’s my setup right now:

    Sequence = XDCAM EX 1080p24
    Render settings = Render in 8-bit YUV
    Process Maximum White as White
    Color correcting filters were already rendered before starting to apply credits above.

    So credits over picture with a dissolve in between the text elements. Have you fully rendered and this is happening?

    Yes, I’ve fully rendered them.

    One place to start is instead of using a dissolve to fade in and out, try using keyframes on the text elements and doing an opacity ramp to zero or up from zero.

    It may be that something in the dissolve type might be altering the color & gamma of the underlying clip. Are you using cross dissolve or something like dip to color or..???
