    Hello all,

I’m currently testing invigorator at a friend’s place
and i have had a lot of trouble while importing .ai files
they seem to always create unwanted polygons between some of
my letters, which creates not cool looking added polygons

Any idea on how to solve that?

    Thanks for any help,

    A few tips, DeathWolf,

First, you’re probably looking at draft mode while you work. Curves will look chunky. This mode is designed for speed. You can adjust the smoothness slider to change the setting.

Second, you can see what your letters will really look like by togging to best quality in the AE timeline and watching your comp window.

Third, if you do have unwanted spikes, you can use spikebuster to address that.

Fourth, the bevel size settings and depth of object settings will affect whether the letters touch eachother. You can offset the bevel to account for that.

    Does this help?

As you explore, you’ll find lots of flexibility and power at your disposal. Have fun with Invigorator!

thanks, i’ve indeed been able to remove it by tweaking some of these settings, but also by going into the advanced object settings(numbers of mesh, etc)

    now a few questions:
1.i’ve noticed sometimes invigorator will start to “freeze”, i see the size box changing, but not the 3D in it, it’s very weird, if i press ok, the render in afx changes, but not when i’m in the preview box.

2.i’ve been trying to work on an example i have to reproduce how it looks, so as to see how would it work in invigorator, but atm i must admit i’m close from it, here’s the thing:
I originally redid it in a full featured 3D software, but the whole process was rather heavy, and i’m wondering how could i do such a thing in invigorator

Thanks for any help on both questions,

also i still have probs with overlapping polygons
    here’s an example:
i tried changing hard shading/spikebuster/other params
but even spikebuster at max level doesnt solve it…
oh and i’m always in full quality mode in afx… and it’s the same there

okay i managed to remove that kind of thing by making really clean illustrator path that wouldnt cross anywhere, which apparently invigorator hates

else i’m still stuck at trying to reproduce my example, seems, the lights management is quite hard to handle
