Since I’m not doing photographs TO the camera but towards the actors, my VFX is actually becoming harder and harder.

I made this test, but it looks terrible. Am I missing something useful? Some way to create realistic flashes? I have to mask the journalists since they have the camera, and I tried to highlight the first actor as a test, but I’m kinda worried about what I can actually do here to make all of this feel photorealistic.

Can you upload a clean clip somewhere where I can download it form?
I have a few ideas but I guess it will be easier to do a test project.

If it is ok for you, I can give you an LQ file via Wetransfer if you can give me your e.mail

I’d be grateful. 😉 The shot even gets more complex later on.

you can use tedjel at yahoo dot com – I’ll do a test with my ideas but it will be rough since I got very little time for it.

It’s rough and it needs tweaking but that’s the main idea- you would have to create different shadows on the back wall to match each flash angle.

Here I am again. You should have the file (thank you, again) and during this time I worked on the clip, doing various tests.. This is what I came up with now.

I think it’s a much better result, but there is quite the room for improvement since you can’t actually “understand” from where the flash actually comes..
Aside from that, even other hints are deeply appreciated, thanks to everyone.

You should have the project file- it’s in m previous post- obviously there’s need for tweaking and I exaggerated some aspects for easier visibility, but the main idea is there- hope you can make use of it.

Thank you very much, I’ll check it surely tomorrow’s morning. I’m working to grow up as post-producer, I’m in debt with all the help this community is giving to me (us). 😉
