  • Testing Blits?

I came across this accidentally today — pressed Shift+Option+Cmd+Number-Pad-Zero (I know, you’re always hitting that keystroke accidentally as well) and it looks like AE does some kind of diagnostic, where it is “testing 1000 blits” and comes up with a result, measured in fps (this information shows up in the Info window). Can anyone explain how I’d make sense of this data?

Can’t find anything in Adobe documentation on this….

    thanks!

I’ve got 594.0594 fps on my blits.

No idea what it means though…but I do remember (from my Atari ST days about 20 years ago!) that BLIT is an acronym for BLock Image Transfer, so it’s presumably something to do with moving blocks of pixels around. Which you’ve undoubtedly already guessed.
