Vicon Motion Capture Technology Gives Doctor Strange The Magic Touch

Prepare to have your mind blown. Not only is Marvel’s Doctor Strange a critically-acclaimed hit ($325 million at the global box office in 13 days, 90% Fresh at Rotten Tomatoes, and a rarely bestowed “A” Cinemascore from opening day audiences), but it’s a sumptuous visual feast worthy of two films it invokes, The Matrix and Inception. Some of the most jaw-dropping sequences were fed from 24 cameras into Vicon’s Blade mocap system, including an especially vertiginous fight scene between our hero, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, and Kaecilius, played by Mads Mikkelsen. We’ve got that clip, as well as a new behind-the-scenes featurette courtesy Marvel that you’ll want to check out. Assuming you’re ready to have your mind blown, of course.
