  • Terrible prores clip playback after importing FCP 7

Hi there, I’m having a strange problem.

I have a .wmv clip that I need to edit into a showreel for a client.

    I have flip4mac.

Using compressor I converted the .wmv to 422 Prores. The result looks great when viewed in quicktime.

However after I import the clip into FCP 7, it’s terrible! The sound pops, stutters, goes out of sync, and visually there’s something almost like trails happening, trippy. This would be tolerable if the sound wasn’t so appalling.

Would appreciate any pointers here, thanks in advance!

    Hi Nick,
I don’t use F4M since long but I remember I used to had an issue with Audio.
I’f I don’t remember wrong, it had problems when changing the Sample Rate, so if your original WMV is 44.1Khz, don’t try to export Prores with 48Khz audio. Keep it at 44.1Khz.
