    Hi

Has anyone used the Teranex Mini? I am wondering what the quality of it’s HD upconversion is. I’ve heard positive rumours.
How would it compare to the AJA Kona for instance. At the moment we are using the Sony M2000 for Beta or Digi material, but for DVCam and DVD we are having to do the conversion in FCP. The FCP conversion is passable except for shots that display notable antialiasing.
We have also used a Canopus system (which we are trying to avoid as it means editing on their system), and we forund that their conversion was softer than FCP, but it dealt well with antialiasing.
Also, does anyone know where to source it in the UK, London, and what it cost in UK sterling.

    Cheers

    Franco

Franco– they are not rumors- the mini brings the Teranex line into the mainstream for all typed of users that are in the quandary of what to do with all of the legacy needs in the video space. The up-conversion is the usual AMAZING quality one has come to expect from that brand, I find the FlexView in upconverts one of the hottest new innovations of the last year.
At -/+ $6K US the mini’s are very cost effective for those that need that type of conversion

Teranex conversion is specified by many networks (the BBC is one) and will fail projects that do not meet the teranex standard.
