Got spanking-new backpack Bond units from Teradek . Our live shots have audio that drifts out of synch and keeps drifting. Back in my early NLE days, you’d see this with mixed sources that didn’t all have the same audio sample rate, but I’m not certain this is the case here. We took a clip that was live-recorded from the Bond’s feed, and for giggles, I re-rendered it out with a different audio sample rate… seemed to “cure” it for the short clip, but longer clips still displayed the audio drift.

Has anybody else experienced this, and if so, what was your fix?

    A shot in the dark…
Make sure your audio bit rate is set to match your video format and quality settings.

Well, yeah, I said we tried that in my initial post. Kinda sorta worked but not for the longer clips.

Try matching the sample rates on the Teradek itself, not in your NLE timeline.
I’m not familiar with the Teradek Bond so I’m not sure this is even an option. Just a guess.

Update: we finally found an answer in the buffer settings of the Teradek receivers, and now the audio stays locked to the video. Putting this in here in case someone in the future comes across the same issue.

Hey Mark. What exactly had to be changed in the buffer settings? I am having the same issue here but I’m not going teradek receiver into bond, I’m feeding the bond from my station. What exactly was the fix?

This is what my engineer gave me; don’t know if it helps – heck, all I know is how to turn the thing on; the rest is just voodoo… 😉
