This is more of a “why” than a “help!” – I’ve found a workaround, but any ideas as to the cause most welcome:

Made a sequence in FCP – HDV (25fps). Built a title in Livetype – very simple fade in/fade out. Put title over sequence. All looked fine. Exported sequence using Quicktime conversion. Played back in QT – there’s a time-jump in the background video at the first frame of the title, maybe 2 frames. Same thing whatever output codec is used – H264, None, etc. Tried changing the field dominance in LT, upper, lower, none – no change.

Changed the Quicktime Video setting in the sequence to ‘none’ – problem disappears. Most odd.

Thanks Dave, you were bang on the money. I put in a compression marker at the first frame of the livetype, and problem solved! I love this place!
