    Hello,
I am an Avid editor, and am starting to learn final cut at work. My question is to know if there is way to template out effects like you can in Avid. example is to build a motion effect that slightly pushes in on video and then save that move in a seperate bin or place for later use. I hope i explained right.
    thanks

Select the shot with the effect move, etc.

right click and select copy. ( or hold down option)

select the shot you want the same effect on.

right click and select PASTE ATTRIBUTES

the move is placed on the new shot. The same goes for filters, motion and a bunch of other things as well.

With specific effects (dissolves or transitions) you can double click on the effect and then grab the little hand tool in the top right corner of the viewer window, it changes to a hand, drag it to the browser and you have a custom effect that you can place in a bin.

You can also drag these project to project. Try that on an avid.
