    After installing FCP studio package I noticed that it comes with a lot of templates and media files for motion, typelive, dvd studio pro…and a lot of them reside on the library folder of the hard drive.

    Is there a way to route these files to an external drive and still have the link to the application? I’m trying to free up space on my hard drive but don’t want to loose the templates.

    You do this during the install process – when you get to the screen to choose which FCP applications to install, you can route the content to other locations from the pulldown menu next to each content listing.
