Telephoto converter

I have the Century 1.6. It does a good job. You are really restricted on how wide you can pull out if you are following any action…but that’s the case with any telephoto I believe. Also, don’t expect the 1.6 to bring you remarkably close to your far off subjects. If it had been available I would have gone with the 2.0. Also the telephoto is a big chink of glass… well made… its real quality.

November 7, 2006 at 10:23 pmThe 1.6 is an excellent lens, but it does vignette. The 2.0 is bigger, heavier, more expensive, vignettes more, and magnifies more. The 1.6 starts vignetting at around 17mm, the 2.0 starts vignetting at about 27mm. Either should do a great job. If you need more magnification, and can afford it, and don’t mind giving up some wide-angle capability, go for the 2.0.
