Technical Illustration, bend or roll sheet of paper
Hello,
i need to animate a sheet of paper that gets folded by two rolls.
Has anyone an idea how to achieve that in after effects?
The yellow sheet of paper gets pushed by the blue thing, folds together and runs through the two rolls.
Any idea or hint to the right direction or tutorial is greatly appreciated.

I think Walter’s right. I can’t think of anything other than the Puppet Tool that might fill the bill, short of a 3D package like Max. I recently had very good results showing a computer cable being plugged into a USB port, and used the Puppet Tool. It took a bit of finagling, but the results were very good.
You won’t find the Puppet Tool very intuitive for what you want to do, so go through some PT tutorials before you get frustrated. Adobe TV is a good place to start.

Thanks guys,
that was what i was also thinking of. I was just not shure if there`s not an easyer alternative. But i just saw that one can manipulate the motion path of the single pins pretty good. Perhaps even link them with expressions to get the papersheet exactly bended around the rolls.
I will try how far i get with the puppet tool.Matthias
