    Hi There,

I originally posted this under the Indesign Forum but I think the Illustrator one is probably more relevent!

I need to make an illustration similar to the one attached

which was taken from a photographthe one I want to do is a photo of a train

I can trace around a photo without problems in illustrator but I was wondering if there is a way to get the ‘grid’ lines could this be done in illustrator easily or another program first and then the lines traced? if I need to get another software programme please could you advise?

    Any advice would be great.

    Thank you

    Lucy

That’s called a 3d wire frame, and you create it with a 3D program. There are free ones (Blender), moderately priced (Silo ~100 bucks) or more expensive ones. Google is your friend!

But if you’ve never used a 3D program, get ready for some learning curve!
