  • Team Render – speed / lens effects

I’m running r16.027 on my mac pro, my macbook pro and my old 12core.
They’re all linked and seeing each other and – ostensibly – behaving well.
However; rendering a single frame on “local machine” only, my render time is 1:49. When I use “Team Render To Picture Viewer” my render time is only a fraction faster (1:26) and there are no lens effects.

Can you give me some advice as to what might be causing these two issues (lack of speed and lens effect drop)?

    Thank you very much.

a quick test here and Lens effects are working with TR. Speed is another thing and depends greatly on how much info has to move back and forth between he machines, can’t tell much without seeing the scene (not that my experience with TR is that large)

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
Totally understand about the speed thing.
The Lens effects thing is somewhat bizarre…. Hmmmm.
If you have any flashes of inspiration, please do let me know.

Slight conflict here from your good selves and the folks at Maxon. Please see below….

    “Hi Alex,

Unfortunately I just confirmed that it is a bug with the Lens Effect post effect. It does not work with Team Render. Sorry for the inconvenience.

interesting as it worked for me, I had an extremely simple scene with nothing but a light in it though…

As Shakespeare might have said; “what a piece of work is software”….

You’d think it would work or not, and not be dependent on the complexity of the scene. I’m running r16.027. Are you? I assume so.
