    Hi,

I need to make a BetaSP dub from a P2 card, and I need the timecode to transfer as well.

It appears that I’m not getting anything from the “TC OUT” bnc from my HPX2000.

I ran a cable from the camera’s TC Out to my BetaSP (UVW1800) TC in, but it is not seeing the tc signal. For grins, I hooked up a horita TC reader to the camera’s tc out, but the reader didn’t read anything either.

The BetaSP deck is seeing the video and audio just fine–just no timecode.

FYI, the video on the P2 card is 480/60i DVCPro.

I would greatly appreciate some hints for what I’m doing wrong.

    Thanks,
    Tom O

You should. You have to make sure that you have tc set to EXT on your Beta machine. But let me make a suggestion. I have never tried exactly what you’re doing, but I have done it while shooting.

Make sure you find the tc out menu and choose TCG/TCR The default is TCG.

Also, as a test, try shooting something (roll the camera with a p2 card in it) and see if the Beta picks up tc. Perhaps tc isn’t sent in thumbnail mode? It should be sent, though, in playback mode provided you find the tc out menu.

    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for the info. You are right on. Five minutes after I posted I finally found the TC OUT menu on the camera and changed it to TCG/TCR. Works great now.

    Thanks again,
    Tom O
