Posted by Jaime Quintana on July 28, 2008 at 1:25 pmSo I need to embed timecode on a Quicktime in order to do an offline on FCP. Any thoughts?

July 28, 2008 at 1:31 pmOk but was it the source? You want TCBI or a timecode track? What are you using to do the Quicktime?

July 28, 2008 at 1:35 pmWhat’s a QuickTime? Just a little more information about what you’re doing would be helpful, like exactly what are you trying to do, what’s the media, what’s the format, where are you coming from, where are you trying to get to, oh and, what version of FCP, what version of the OS, and what version of QuickTime are you using?
All the best,
Tom

July 28, 2008 at 1:35 pmOK, so the idea would be to get an existing quicktime in FCP and have the source timecode as a TCBI. I then would make an EDL for the online editor.

July 28, 2008 at 2:54 pmThere’s a filter that does this. Look up “Timecode Reader” in your FCP manual.

July 28, 2008 at 4:46 pm1. Open the file in the Source window.
2. Pull down “Modify->Timecode” in FCP.
