    Gurus,
We are a lab new to Avid Media Composer and transfer film then sync dailies in MC 3.0 on a Mac. I read somewhere that Avid can take TC from audio metadata (from a DVD-R multitrack master) and ‘after burn’ that in a window as it goes out to tape. We know how to get the basic video TC to burn, but there was an effects setting called ‘Generator’ that allowed you to assign what metadata (KK, audio, etc.) to window burn. We can’t reproduce what the article stated as the menu for that. Can you explain?

    Thanks, Joe

    Thanks, Film Joe

Go to the Effect Palette (CTRL-8 / CMD-8), find the Generator Tab and choose Timecode. There, you can choose to burn in up to 4 displays of timecode or other data.
